Keeping new hardware compatible with decades of infrastructure

Challenge
Modern USB peripherals needed to operate alongside legacy serial equipment without forcing stores into a disruptive, all-at-once hardware replacement.
Approach
Separated device behavior from application logic, centralized the hardware boundary, and preserved the established communication paths required by older equipment.
Outcome
Created a practical migration path where modern and legacy devices can coexist while future integrations become easier to test, support, and replace.

Restoring control systems after major facility damage

Challenge
A manufacturing environment needed electrical controls, PLC logic, HMIs, and industrial networking restored and modernized under real operational and safety constraints.
Approach
Worked across design, programming, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting while coordinating plant personnel, contractors, technicians, and vendors.
Outcome
Helped move the work from damaged infrastructure and technical drawings toward a commissioned system that operators could safely use and maintain.

Inconsistent tax, price, rate, and refund data between stores could create incorrect or difficult-to-explain totals—and expose financial-loss scenarios.

Traced transaction behavior across system boundaries, identified where assumptions diverged, and strengthened validation around the affected flows.
Outcome
Made transaction results more consistent and explainable while reducing the opportunities for accidental loss and deliberate abuse.
